AND1 Mixtape Volume 9: [Area] Codes - Limited Edition Review PDF Print E-mail

ImageThis past weekend I was at East Stroudsburg in PA for a camp and they gave me a pair of the new AND 1 shorts and hit me up with a DVD. It happened to be a limited edition preview of AND 1’s next release. I’ll tell you what – AND1 Mixtape Volume 9: [Area] Codes is going to be one of the best streetball DVD’s of all time, no doubt. This limited edition DVD only showed about 10 minutes of the tape, and the 10 minutes I watched got me hooked.

There’s no question that Volume 9 will be much better than the crap that AND1 put out starting from Volume 6 and on to Volume 8. This one’s different. As everyone knows, AND1 goes through each signed player and their area code, and the song selection corresponds to that player’s area code. This means TONS of songs. The DVD I have only showed AO and Silk, and as always AO looked filthy. Silk, the new player that was runnin’ all over AND1 last year is staright up retarted. The moves, which are pretty original for once, make the footage perfect because the songs are bangin’ and have never really been heard before.

Editing. AND1 actually edits their footage in this DVD and it makes the overall presentation much better. Unfortunetly, AO and Silk were the only players that I got to see. By the looks of the 10 minutes I watched, Volume 9 will blast off and put AND1 back on top in terms of their DVD situation. I’ll try to get a review up ASAP when the DVD comes out on July 25th.

Remember, besides each player’s section, you’ll get to see straight up ball from NYC, Philly, DC, LA, Dirty South, and the Midwest, Crash the Courts at Barry Farms DC and Kingdome NYC, the come up – Air Up There, Silk, Assasin, Bad Santa, the best of the 2005 Kingdome and Barry Farms summer leagues, the return of Hot Sauce, and finally, the best of the 2005 open runs.

Check back soon for a full review of AND1 Mixtape Volume 9: [Area] Codes when it hits stores July 25th. Until then, DOWNLOAD THE TRAILER
