Dime Magazine catches up with Luis Da Silva aka "Trikz", one of the very originators of freestyle basketball. The clip starts off with Trikz telling us how he got signed with Nike, and became the first streetballer to sign with them at the age of 18. After a brief synopsis of what his life has been like since then, Luis begins to prove why he's at the top of freestyle competitions and gives us a preview of what he's got up his sleeve.
Trikz was introduced to the world first during the Nike Freestyle scenes that produced 2-4 commercials that aired on television. They made such a hype that Nike continued to sign more streetballers, and the commercials became widely known within months. Nike even put together a montage clip of behind the scenes footage with interviews of current NBA stars.

His best friend, the buddy that took the fall for him and did the time for an assault charge, Tech, also an outstanding basketball player, has less lofty ambitions: he wants to get his GED and win an underground street ball game against his arrogant rival, Jewelz. Their lives change drastically when they both fall in love with two local girls, Vanessa Lilly and Eboni Jackson, and take fateful trip out to L.A. together.

"JFK" won the dunk-off in New York and your boy "Hi Rizer" from Atlanta smashed his city. He was able to dunk over the bar raised to 62 inches ~ a feat he had accomplished last year.

Entertainers Basketball Classic CEO, Gregory Marius is inviting you to participate in EBC’s second annual tripleheader celebrity and All-Star basketball extravaganza at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, July 23, 2006. The EBC, the famous basketball tournament that has operated out of Holcombe Rucker Memorial Park for over 25 years, makes its return to The World’s Most Famous Arena after a successful premiere last summer.
This year’s game will benefit DKMS, a bone marrow donor center. Gregory Marius, on behalf, of EBC, has generously donated $75,000 to the charity. DKMS’ mission is to save the lives of people suffering from leukemia and other life-threatening blood diseases by recruiting potential donors. Over 35,000 patients in the U.S. could benefit from bone marrow transplant, yet only about 2,000 find a match. A possible cure is out there for all, yet only few find a suitable match. Strong supporters of DKMS, Jennifer Lopez and Hip-Hop Icon Darryl McDaniels, DMC of Run-DMC constantly raise awareness about the shortage of minority donors. The Entertainers Basketball Classic after 25 years has made its first selection of 6 to be inducted into the EBC Hall of Fame. We want to thank the pioneers of The Entertainers Basketball Classic on June 17, 2006 at 2pm at Holcombe Rucker Memorial Park, located at 155th street and 8th avenue. Along with the celebration, we will be creating a group photo of every single Player, Coach, and Staff member who are our legends of the Tournament during its 25 years of existence. From past to present, this photo will be to summer basketball as the Jazz photo in harlem is to Jazz.
